How do I save money with community solar? 

Just like a house with rooftop solar gets credit for the power generated by its solar panels, community solar subscribers get credit for the power generated by their share of a community solar project. With the support of state and federal energy incentives, Solar Landscape provides this clean power at a discount and passes the savings on to its customers. Your electricity bills will include your discounted solar credits, which reduce what you owe on your electricity bill. The discount will depend on your electric utility provider and will never decrease.

What is community solar?

Community solar programs allow homeowners and renters to receive the savings benefit of solar energy. By enrolling in a community solar project, our customers enable Solar Landscape to build and operate solar projects that add more clean energy to the local electricity grid. In return, customers receive solar credits on their electric utility bills that reduce what they owe, saving them money, Customers do not need to buy any special equipment or install any panels on their roof. 

Do I need to own a home to participate?

No. Customers do not have to own a home to join a community solar program because there are no panels to install on your property. The program is available to both renters and homeowners in the following electric utility services:

  • Atlantic City Electric
  • Jersey Central Power & Light 
  • Public Service Electric & Gas


Is community solar a state-approved program? 

Yes! This program is regulated by the State of New Jersey and is part of the New Jersey Community Solar Energy Program. Learn more here.

Is there an income requirement?

No. Community solar is open to everyone and there is no income requirement to enroll. If you qualify as a low- to moderate-income subscriber, however, we may be able to prioritize your enrollment so you can begin receiving solar credits sooner.

How does billing work with community solar? 

Your solar credits will be reflected on your electric utility bill which you will pay as you normally would. If you have any questions about your billing, call 732-589-7529 or send an email to care@solarlandscape.com.

When will my bill reflect the community solar discount? 

You will receive an email when your project is energized. Typically, it will take one to three billing cycles after your project is energized to begin receiving solar credits on your bill. 

Can customers on budget billing sign up?

Yes! Customers on budget billing in New Jersey can sign up for community solar.

Are there any additional costs or credit checks?

No. There are no credit checks, upfront costs or fees, and you can cancel at any time.

Do I keep my current utility provider? 

Yes. You continue to be a customer of your utility provider. By enrolling in community solar, you have simply chosen to participate in a green energy project being offered for your community. The electricity is provided to your home the same way it always has been.
