Flexible development capital strengthens Solar Landscape's ability to bring distributed energy online faster to meet America's growing electricity demand
ASBURY PARK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Solar Landscape has secured up to $150 million in development financing from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to accelerate the development and deployment of new distributed energy projects nationwide.
The financing will initially support approximately 250 MWdc of mid- and late-stage development assets, helping Solar Landscape advance projects toward construction and bring new power online faster.
The transaction builds on a series of significant financing activities completed by Solar Landscape over the past year, including:
- $600 million senior debt facility
- $125 million corporate revolving credit facility
- $117 million preferred equity investment
- More than $2.2 billion in total capital raised over the past three years
The partnership comes as electricity demand continues to rise and grid constraints create an urgent need for new generation. By leveraging commercial rooftops as existing infrastructure, distributed solar can add power without requiring new land or lengthy transmission development.
“Solar Landscape's rooftop community solar projects are precisely what the market needs right now,” said Reiner Boehning, Partner at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. “On a constrained PJM grid where demand is surging, generation that plugs directly into the local distribution system brings new supply online quickly and lowers costs for ratepayers.”
"As demand for electricity continues to accelerate, the ability to efficiently raise and deploy capital across the totality of the development lifecycle is becoming an increasingly important competitive advantage," said Clayton Avent, Chief Financial Officer of Solar Landscape. "We deeply appreciate CIP’s partnership in providing us with revolving development capital that increases the throughput of our development platform, allowing us to advance projects more efficiently and bring new distributed energy infrastructure online faster.
